Me now vs. high-school me

My friend Wendy posted a feature on her blog today, and I don’t really do these Internet survey-type things, but I thought this one sounded like fun. It’s five things I would say to my high school self and five things my high school self would probably say to me today.

I have often thought how I wish I knew then what I know now, although then I wouldn’t have made the mistakes and steps that took me where I am today, but oh well. And I realize I’m only 26, but high school seems REALLY far away to me.

If you ran into your former high school self, what would she/he think of what you have become?

  • Why don’t you have a book published yet? Get on that, dude.
  • You work with your brother? He doesn’t hate you? What? He’s one of your best friends??!! THAT IS SO COOL!
  • Your cats are awesome! You blog about them? What’s a blog?
  • Your friends are really cool. College sounds great.
  • Is that your husband? **straining neck to look** Wow, he’s got big biceps!
Here are five things I’d tell little high school Megan:
  • Please spend more time with Michelle and Mumford in high school. They are good people.
  • Quit kidding yourself that it’s just baby fat. You have a round face. Find a haircut that works.
  • Be nice to your parents and quit being a brat. In about five years, you’ll realize how important they are to you.
  • Keep playing the violin in the school orchestra, no matter how dorky you think it is. Best.Memories.Ever.
  • You are with HIM? Oh sweetie, hang in there. Your superhero soulmate Neal is on his way. And he’s hot :)
