Home improvement

So, when Neal and I moved into our house, we observed that the previous owners had already framed and insulated the attic. We had said we’d love to finish the room and make that our bedroom. Last year, Neal’s parents bought us drywall and supplies for Christmas to get started on the room. We didn’t have much time last year to get working on it, what with all the weddings and things Neal and I had last year. So this year, we are committed to finishing the room. I am so excited! Neal’s parents have been amazing and so willing to give up their time on the weekends to help us. They have done a lot of work in their own house, so they know what they are doing. I thought I would hate putting up drywall and stuff, but I actually really enjoy the project. It’s going to be an awesome accomplishment when it’s all finished.

We spent all day Saturday, (which was Neal’s birthday!) putting up the ceiling, sloped sides and walls. We got so much accomplished and I’m really happy with how it looks.

Yay! I seriously cannot wait until it’s all done. The previous owners had two closets already framed out and partically drywalled, so we are that much closer to a new bedroom! I’ll try to post more pics as we progress. Neal’s parents are coming up to help us again in two weeks.
