So, this is how Simone helped me clean and bake yesterday:
She surveyed my work from the top of the cabinets.
And then she got distracted by her dirty paw.
Then she followed me over to the sink and watched me wash dishes.
Oh, and then she was distracted by a bird or something outside.
OK, then I guess watching me wash dishes was more entertaining, haha.
How cute is she!
So, I have been using this recipe to make chocolate chip cookies. I’ve linked to it before. It calls for melting the butter, then cooling slightly until just warm. I always ignored that part and just softened the butter. And while the cookies were good, I just felt that something was wrong. So this time, I followed the recipe by melting the butter and then cooling it. I also made the cookies smaller. This time?
PERFECTION
I’m so happy and wish I would have done this recipe this way from the beginning. They puffed up beautifully. I still use only 1 tsp vanilla, though, instead of two as the recipe calls for.
Yay! Aren’t they pretty?
