So, I’m in mourning today. My laptop has been on the fritz for about a week. Neal and I thought it could be a number of things. Until last night. When it wouldn’t boot up AGAIN. A quick Google search revealed my model of laptop starts doing this around year 2 or 3 and eventually completely turns in the towel. No warranty covers it. No real reason. It just stops booting up. I’m typing on it now, because Neal was able to turn it on this morning and just kept it on all day, but it’s not looking good long term.
I’m depressed about it. I’ve had this laptop for about 2 1/2 years. Neal bought it for me and I fell in love instantly. Seriously, it’s like the coolest laptop. It’s got cool blue backlights and it’s all shiny and great. It’s even got this little remote to access the music program remotely. But yeah, can’t really enjoy that when IT DOESN’T TURN ON.
It’s not like we have a shortage of computers in our house. It’s just that this is my laptop. My little refuge. My part of the house that’s mine and all mine. So who knows when it will finally die and never turn on again. I’m going to keep trying. I won’t give up on you, Lover!
But, if she finally decides she doesn’t want to boot up her pretty little hard drive ever again, we’ll probably replace her with a netbook, these neat little inexpensive laptops recommended for word processing and web surfing. Hey that’s all I do! But Neal (my personal IT department) is going to try some fixes on my laptop first. Please pray for my baby!
But besides that, I’m frustrated that a company can put out a laptop and when tons of people have issues suspiciously around the time the warranty runs out, we have to pay $300 to get it fixed. Well, to that I say, screw you Schmewlett Hackard!*
