So, I can’t believe it’s the end of 2008! This year flew by. I heard it only gets worse as you get older. Jeez.

We’re heading back to Shawn and Andi’s house for New Year’s. But screw Shawn and Andi, I can’t wait to see COLE!! I promise to take plenty of pics of his cute furry face and post them ASAP.

I told Andi I’d bring cheese and crackers. But true Megan-style, I decided that wasn’t enough. Mostly because Shawn and Andi made SO MUCH awesome food at their holiday party and I feel like I need to repay them somehow. So, I am also making a seven-layer taco dip and tonight, I made red velvet cupcakes. Andi, if you are reading this, I’m also bringing taco dip and cupcakes, HAHA.

I found a Paula Dean recipe online and decided to try it. I hope these babies are good! I also made cream cheese icing and iced them and everything tonight, since I work a full day tomorrow and won’t have time.

This icing was amazing. Seriously.

It took all the willpower I have (which is very minimal) not to just run in a closet with the bowl and eat the whole thing. But then I decided I don’t want to weigh 675 pounds like those people on TLC who have to be taken out of their beds in a crane, and so I iced the damn cupcakes.

So they’re in the refrigerator now, so the cream cheese will stay safe to eat. Don’t want to start 2009 off with a bottle of Pepto Bismol.

While the cupcakes cooled and stuff, we did — what else — Guitar Hero!

Our cats slept most of the night and rarely ventured out. Not sure what was going on with that. Ferris eventually came out and said hi.
