So, I’d like to revisit a photo I took a couple of weeks ago.
Here it is. The one where Ferris is making my nutcracker dance. After further review of this photo, I’d like to point out two things that really made me laugh. These things are also pretty indicative of anything that goes on around here.
Exhibit #1: Simone peeking her head around to watch Ferris wreak havoc. This is typical. Wherever Ferris is creating trouble, causing problems, there’s Simone as a witness. I just love her little head peaking around the corner in this picture.
Exhibit #2: Our upstairs bathroom sink drain stopper. I know I’ve talked about Ferris’s obsession with this before. He manages to get his paw underneath the stopper, pull the stopper out of the drain, and then carries it in his mouth out of the bathroom. He’ll then set it at the top of stairs and push it with his paw, watching it bounce down the stairs. For some reason, this is way more interesting than playing with any of the toys we actually bought him. We stopped putting the stopper back in the drain, because there really was no point. He’d just get it out again. So that part of the picture made me laugh. One of these days, I’d like to go through all my pictures and try to find out how many times Ferris’s favorite toy makes an appearance.
OK, so tonight, I had some mushrooms and chicken tenders to use, and I was in the mood for some pasta. So, for the first time, I made my own meal! Now, I’m sure this has been made plenty of times, and it probably has tasted better than I made it taste, but the point is that I didn’t use a recipe.
OK, so I cut up the tenders and cooked the chicken. Then I sauteed some garlic, onions and mushrooms in some butter. I then poured in some milk and let the sauce simmer and thicken. I then added the chicken back in the pan, and some penne pasta. I also included some fresh grated parmesan in the sauce and over top the finished dish. I served it with some asparagus.
It was really good! There are some things I could definitely tweak, but it’s a good start. And it got a thumbs up from Neal!
OH, and in case you were concerned, the water meter guy made it out of our basement alive!

[...] about how Ferris loves to play with our upstairs bathroom sink drain stopper? I talked about it here. This new feature is Neal’s idea, because we often find this stopper all over the house, but [...]
