the road

Neal and I occasionally put on our shoes and our toes hit something soft shoved into the front of the shoe.

It’s always a puffball. Our cats love putting their puffballs and sometimes small furry mice into our shoes and then trying to dig them out. I caught Simone playing with Neal’s slipper and took a series of pictures. I think they are pretty funny.

Awwww… isn’t she cute? I love her to pieces.

Neal said he was working on a project this week, so I should expect him home late. I found this recipe for Farfalle with Mushroom Cream Sauce that was supposed to be low fat/low cal, so I decided to give it a shot. Neal doesn’t love dishes with cream sauce, so a late work night for him was a good night for me to make this.

I used fat free half and half, and let it simmer with the mushrooms for a little so it could thicken up. I also used the white wine, rather than the chicken stock, The sauce sort of curdled a little, which I attribute to the fat free half and half, but it sure didn’t affect the taste! This dish was really good!

I also think the sauce looks like that because I added more parmesan than the recipe called for, haha. But if you like mushrooms, you’d really, really like this. It also didn’t make me feel really full, like pasta dishes normally do. Anyway, I recommend it!
