Rainy, lazy weekend

So, it poured buckets all Saturday. It was hard to wake up, because it seemed so dark outside. It was actually kind of nice not to have to run anywhere, or do yardwork. I was stuck inside, and loved it!

Neal’s parents came to visit, and my mom came over, too, since my dad was out of town. We all had a really nice time. It was good to catch up. Neal and I had planned to make dinner in, which was a good call in light of the downpour outside.

We made barbecue ribs in the crockpot.

Ribs

They turned out sooooo well. I was really happy with them. Very flavorful and they just fell off the bone. I slow-cooked them all day in barbecue sauce. Yum! We had cole slaw, beans, veggies and rolls. I also made an apple cobbler for dessert. It’s my **future** sister’s-in-law mother’s recipe (did you get that?). It was really, really good and just about the simplest recipe imaginable.

Everyone liked it, and I can testify it was just as good heated up the next day. :)

My mother-in-law brought an outdoor lantern for us as a gift. I LOVE IT. I can’t wait to get it all situated out on my deck so it looks pretty!

Isn’t it cool? It’s totally my style.

Anyway, I got some cute pics of Simone on sensory overload with her two favorite toys, Blue String Toy and Puff Ball.

HAHA, she makes me laugh.

So, the sun actually came out Sunday, which was awesome. The day was lovely. We opened up the doors and windows and just enjoyed the nice weather.

We also watched the Eagles. Thank the Lord that they won and looked good (or the Rams just looked really bad).

Eagles loss = grumpy Neal

Eagles win = happy Neal

I really enjoyed watching the game. I never really watched much football until I met Neal, but he took the time to explain the game to me, and I really couldn’t be his wife if I didn’t root for the Eagles. Although my brother-in-law would still say I’m not a true fan, HAHA, I do root for the Eagles from my heart. E-A-G-L-E-S. EAGLES!

So, because it rained all day yesterday, the worms and bugs and stuff must have been right at the surface of the ground, because our yard was covered in birds for most of the day. I mean COVERED.

The cats freakin’ loved it.Bird watchin\'

HAHA.

When Simone got bored of looking at birds, she decided to take a bath on my newly folded laundry. I hate when she lies on the clothes while I’m folding them. But she looks so cute, I had to take some pictures.

And then she slept.

Yeah, those are Neal’s boxes. Not sure he’d be happy that I showed his “Kiss me” boxers on the Internets. Oh well. I bought those for him for Valentine’s Day one year, HAHA.
