So, Neal is forbidden to talk to me about politics.
FORBIDDEN.
We got into a heated discussion a couple of days ago where Neal was admittedly antagonistic. He kept trying to trip me up on my words and I felt like I was being grilled by Campbell Brown. Ugh.
So, I don’t care if we watch CNN or the Daily Show or anything. I just don’t want to have a discussion about it. I have been reading material on my own and researching the issues that matter to me.
I was on my way out the door for work this morning. Neal was glued to CNN, as he has been since the conventions. Ferris ran to the door and I yelled to Neal to come get him so he doesn’t run out the door.
Neal looks up at me and says “Did you know Sarah Palin raised the gas taxes in Alaska marginally more than any other state?” (or something to that affect. I don’t really remember).
I just stared at him, sort of dumbfounded. I didn’t want political facts. I want him to grab the damn cat so I could get out the door for the day.
“Thanks for that tidbit, Neal,” I said sarcastically. “Now come get the cat so I won’t be late for work.”
Ugh. The nerve. So Dwight Schrute-style, he will be shunned from now on anytime he tries to discuss politics.
So, I love my crockpot and I love crockpot meals, so I saw this recipe for Smothered Chicken and thought it would be a great thing to let stew while I was at work. The house smelled amazing when I got home, and the dinner did not dissapoint. Basically it was a bunch of cans of cream of chicken/mushroom soup, plus some onions, mushrooms, garlic and of course, chicken. I served it over rice to soak up the sauce.
Yum!
I got a cute picture of Ferris doing what he loves best – cuddling. We can’t watch TV without Ferris curling up with one of us.
