R.I.P DeLonghi.
You will be missed.
You were with Neal and I from the beginning, back in the early days when we lived among the shag carpet on King Street. We sipped your caffeinated nectar in the early days of our marriage.
You were there for us through all those tough, early work-week mornings. I enjoyed your paper-less filter feature and your programmable brewing cycle.
Although your white color was hard to keep clean, it was still a bright spot in my day. You brewed fast and you brewed well. What a hard worker.
But you stopped working. And I rely on your product to properly function throughout the day. I can’t even think without coffee. So you had to be replaced. I would have been perfectly happy if you had continued to service my early-morning needs for 20 more years. But I guess we worked you too hard. I’m sorry for that.
We have replaced you with a shiny new model.
I’m still wary of this new model. We don’t have a relationship yet.
But no matter what, I’ll never forget you, Dear DeLonghi.
R.I.P.
