So Jodie and Dan finally got hitched on Friday, 8/8/08. Yay! I had a half day at work and Neal and I made it to the wedding right on time. Everything was gorgeous. Jodie was breathtakingly beautiful. I started blubbering as soon as she started walking down the aisle. Not a lot of my pics of Jodie and Dan during the ceremony in the church showed up because… well… I’m kinda short. Here’s one right after they were announced, plus a random head (HAHA)…
And here are pics of Neal and I and Andi and Shawn in the pews before the ceremony.
We checked into the hotel and then headed to the cocktail hour. The reception was held in a remodeled train station and it was really gorgeous.
The cocktail hour was REALLY good. They had cheese and veggies and then tons of butlered hors d’oeuvres. It was really cool stuff, too. Like marinated pork on edible spoons, crab cones, and these really cool jerk chicken shooters. It’s hard to describe, but pieces of chicken were stuck on plastic tube that had salsa in it. So you ate the chicken and then shot the salsa in your mouth. Here’s Neal demonstrating. He had like 5 of these things.
And of course we took pics.
And then we headed into the reception hall, which was really pretty.
The beautiful couple was introduced.
And they danced.
Our good friend Amanda was co-maid of honor.
After dancing, I went to congratulate the happy couple.
Aren’t they freakin’ gorgeous?
So then it was time for dinner and more pictures.
Neal and Shawn and Goody left early. Neal and Goody went to this car race they to to every year in Watkins Glen. So after they left, us girls proceeded to do a lot of this…
And we proceeded to all have a complete blast.
And this is what happens when Jess steals your camera…
But we all had a wonderful time celebrating Jodie and Dan. They truly are an amazing couple.
Awwww….
I’ve been so busy with weddings this summer, that it hasn’t really hit me that my brother is getting married next month. Well, it hit me at Jodie’s wedding. I was watching Dan dance with his mom and I realized that in a month, I’ll be watching my brother dance with my mom at his wedding. I started crying at Jodie’s wedding, so if that’s any indication, I know I’m going to be a complete mess at my brother’s wedding! But I’m so excited about it. I am getting my dress altered and found the perfect shoes, so I’m really getting pumped.
The rest of the wedding was pretty relaxing. Amanda and I watched the opening ceremonies for the Olympics on Saturday (I taped them), and we were COMPLETELY blown away at how amazing they were. I really love the Olympics, and am excited to watch all the inspiring moments.
On a non-wedding note – our cats are still obsessed with hiding behind and curtains and our new rug.
HAHA, How cute!
This week is sort of busy. I have a school board meeting Monday, haircut Tuesday. Then Saturday, we are heading to see the in-laws. I haven’t been to their house in FOREVER and I feel bad. I’m a bad daughter-in-law. I’m looking forward to seeing them!
