Some nights, the cats don’t sleep with us at all. They jump on the bed when they hear us stir in the morning but that’s about it. Other nights, they spend the entire night on the bed, moving around, sleeping near our heads, then around our feet and everywhere in between. Last night was a bed-full-o-cat night. I woke up multiple times to Simone sleeping in between my legs, which is really uncomfortable and causes severe cramping.
But anyway, I woke up a little early for once and came downstairs. At some time in the night, the cats must have gotten up to have a puffball massacre. Puff balls are these little balls of synthetic fur that their uncle (my brother) got for them, and they are obsessed.
Here’s remnants of one:
Yes, that mangled, gross piece of multi-colored stuff is their favorite toy. The rest of it lies in chunks around our living room floor.
Anyway, work was really busy today, so I was pretty drained when I got home. But I still watered my peony (my mom told me I should have been watering it more, oooops) and cleaned the sliding glass doors.
Ferris was being cute and playful on the couch.
He loves to shove his face in the camera, HAHA.
I had a haircut appointment tonight and my worst fears were confirmed. My amazing hairdresser is indeed moving to Louisiana to be with her boyfriend. I’m so bummed. I had thought this was coming because she had talked about it. I love my hairdresser. She’s so nice and best of all, she does an amazing job. Oh well, she said she has the perfect person in the salon to refer me to. It still won’t be the same. I’ll see her once more in August, and then she’s off. I have to try to find a gift for her. What a bummer
I consoled myself when I got home with more blueberry buckle. Neal and I watched Jeopardy, and I knew the answer to the final question (Who is… Jack London?) and was pretty proud of myself.
I also threw some pita chips in the oven. A coworker of mine made them and I decided to try my own with my own seasonings of choice. I drizzled some EVOO (yes, I watch Rachel Ray) over some cut wheat pita bread and sprinkled some salt, pepper, Italian seasoning and grated Parmesan cheese over top. (If I could marry Italian seasoning, I would. I use that in just about everything I make, HAHA). Baked ‘em up and they turned out delicious.
Yum.
I want to take them into work to snack on.
Anyway, other than that, not much is going on. So, I’ll leave ya with a pic of my girl, Simone.
