Dang alarm…

So, I work up at 8:10 a.m. today.

I normally leave my house for work at 8 a.m. I get there around 8:15 or 8:20. We are supposed to be there at 8:30 a.m.

So yeah, I woke up at 8:10 a.m.

I had just enough time to brush my teeth and put on clothes. I walked in the door at work at 8:31 a.m. What a way to start out the morning. Ugh.

I kind of crashed when I came home from work. But I got my second wind and actually made dinner. Turkey burgers on the Foreman. Our favorite :) I can actually get Neal to come home early from work if I call and tell him I am making turkey burgers. Or meatloaf.

I was hoping it would rain so I didn’t have to water my plants, but no such luck, so I left Neal to clean the kitchen and I went outside to water my plants.

My mixed pot on my front porch is actually doing really well. The beetles seem to love the potato vine, but oh well, at least it’s growing.

The cats watched out the front door while I watered.

I went around out back to check out the peony bush Neal and I planted this spring.

peony

I guess it’s OK. It looks like it’s getting some more growth, but the leaves seem a little yellow. I’m thinking we planted it where it gets too much sunlight. Oh well. We’ll see if it blooms next year.

On the other hand, my herbs look amazing. My mom gave me herbs around Mother’s Day this year. I really wanted a little herb garden, because I like to use them when I cook, but I was really scared I was going to kill them. Well, herbs must be foolproof.

mint

I don’t really like the taste of mint, but Neal does, and I do like how it looks as a garnish. This mint used to be just one little sprig and now it’s out of control.

I also have basil (top left) and parsley (bottom right):

The parsley is definitely growing well.

Then I also have chives (top) and cilantro (bottom):

Yeah, I know I need to pull weeds and put more mulch down. One stop at a time, all right?

Only two more days in the work week. Whew. Some guy on the phone called me “peppy” today. Heh heh. Little did he know he kind of hit the nail on the head. That was only on a half-cup of coffee, too.

Oh, and click on the photos. Neal downloaded some application (not sure if that’s the right term) where they pop up in a nifty new window. I love having a programmer nerd for a husband :)
