The Sabbath

I slept in again on Sunday. I was traumatized from watching the movie “Requiem for a Dream” last night. That movie was beyond horrifying. And by horrifying, I mean depressing. It was a great movie about addiction, and how said addictions affect our future, but boy was it rough to watch. Neal has been telling me we need to watch it, and I’m glad I did. We actually bought it at Best Buy, but I’ll need a lot of time to recover before I can watch that again. Jared Leto is a lame singer and kind of a douche bag in real life, but he’s an AMAZING actor.

Anyway, Sunday was rather productive. I reorganized my drawers so my summer clothes were more accessible, and transferred most of my winter clothes to the dresser in the spare bedroom. I also gathered some clothes together in a trash bag to donate to Goodwill. Simone helped.

I vacuumed and cleaned and all that stuff. It felt good to get some things done around the house. The cats stared at birds out the front door, as they do ALL THE TIME.

I love this picture because their little legs are in the exact same position, haha.

After a hard 15 minutes of chattering at birds, the cats did what they do best. Sleep.

I took a little break and cuddled with Simone on my freshly vacuumed carpet.

Neal did work most of the day.

He set up shop in the living room so he could watch the Euro 2008 championship game. That’s soccer for those of you that don’t know. Neal’s one of the cheapest people around, but he was all over paying the extra $5 a month for the “futball” channel. We’re rooting for Spain.

So, this week is only a four-day work week. Yay! We’re heading to our best friends’ new home for a housewarming party on July 4th. I’m so excited to see their place and hang out with friends. Plus, we have a banging housewarming present, thanks to Amanda :)
